DC | Renwick Gallery

January 28, 2016

With an abundance of galleries in DC to explore, there is no shortage of places to visit when the weather is colder and I find myself bored. A couple of weeks ago, I was scrolling through instagram and some pics from the newly renovated and newly re-opened Renwick Gallery popped up. The pictures looked amazing, so I grabbed my camera and headed down the next day.

Renwick Gallery is part of the Smitsonian American Art Museums and was the first gallery that was built for the sole reason of being an art museum in the US. The gallery has recently undergone a 2 year renovation and to celebrate the re-opening, the gallery was transformed in to an immersive art work. The current exhibition, ‘Wonder’, shows art installations from nine contemporary artists who were each able to take over and transform a space.

Honestly, this was the most beautiful gallery I had ever been to. The building is itself incredible and the art installations are unlike any I have seen before.
